The company was inspired by our interest in music, entertainment, and entrepreneurial ventures. Originally named Bain Town, we began promoting our own parties at bars & clubs throughout Toronto. Our first event, Da Funk Borough, was held at Behind The Eight Ball in the summer of 95! With George (a.k.a. DJ NV) spinning tunes, and us promoting, we entered into Toronto's underground party scene.

There were no more parties that year, as time was devoted to other activities, including Mike's band VOX POP. They performed several concerts and recorded a tape, "The Calm Befvre The Storm!, and the CD, "In Out Throu" It was during this period that we decided to combine the band with DJ's, and continue with the parties.

Our next promotion was held in June of 96' at the Indigo Cafe. (685 Queen St. W.). DJ NV combined his talents with two bands; VOX POP & Akim. The event was a success drawing a packed crowd. One more party was held there that summer featuring three DJ's. The music was great and although it was a small crowd, the vibe was nice.

During the fall/winter of 96' we held two parties at Lupa Osteria, a restaurant formerly in existence on the Danforth. The first party held on October 11, was a great success. Close to l00 packed in people, they all grooved to the beats. The second one was held on Boxing day (snow storm) and very rew people showed up.

In February of 97' we held our last party as Bain Town, and introduced Higher Sound. The event was held at the Lion Bar,(349A Collige St.) and featured VOX POP DJ NV, and new comer, DJ Scarms. This would be the last show for VOX POP, as the band members moved on in different directions.

In 98' we have promoted four parties. The first one was held at the Lion Bar, and featured an open Mic session. Several artists including: Cosmos, Jimmy and our own MC Hype, excited the crowd with their soulful lyrics. The second two parties were held at the 606 club and both were a succes. Our crowd was now nearing 200 people and our reputation was growing stronger.

We held seven more parties that year; three of them after parties. Our most memorable event was our Halloween party at Bar Inferno. A crowd of over 125 peop]e, most in costumes, celebrated with Higher Sound. The party featured NV, Scarms and MC Hype. The live singing to instrumentals and DJ cuts, added a new flavor to our parties.

Unfortunately, with good times come bad times, and for us a major set back. 606 called two nights before the party telling us it was bumped in favor of a private party for the owner. After designing flyers and promoting for over a month the parly was cancelled. Just like that! ! ! But don't worry well be back @ ya.
